after my sudden and rather violent introduction to a guardrail post (it came out worse then me) I will finally be going home tomorrow.
I want to thank everyone with whom ive spoken to the past 2 and half weeks. Rehab and this quarantine issue arent making life easy. But I really did enjoy the talks I had with you guys.
The daytona is day-done for.cracked engine case and broken frame means its off to the great race track in the sky.
I broke the post clean in 2...im impressed tbh

Congratulations on what appears to be a good head start on recovery.
Looking at those photos I’m leaning towards the guard rail probably saving you from worse injury. Attempts are accident recreation are pointless, but what lies beyond combined with the chance for bike to come in hot after you doesn’t appear to make me think otherwise.

On the plus side, gaurd rails the world over will from this day forward quiver in fear at the mere mention of your name.
Glad you’re getting out man. If you need anything, I think I can speak for everyone in saying that we’ve got your back. Which is probably a poor choice of words, but uh...

I fratured T1 through T9, some ribs, both shoulders, and some brain bleeding.
Past the guard rail was a lot of bushes (which I would have taken tbh)

Again, I’m glad to see you made it through this little mishap. Happy recovery at home. Let’s hope you don’t pick up coronavirus. Broken bones and coughing don’t go well together (I had to learn this one the hard way).
Stay safe and get healed!

I think the only time a guard rail could help a a motorcyclist is if there was a several hundred foot drop on the other side of it.

I admit, part of the reason for my pushing to go home quicker then normal was so that i get OUT of hospital and away from ppl ASAP

Hiccups are the worst thing with broken ribs. It’s kind of like, “why is my body doing this to me?”

Good to know you’re going home. I don’t think there has been a better time to rest and recuperate. Stay home. Binge all the shows. Surf to the ends of the internet.

YAY! Glad to hear you’re headed home and on the mend friend! Now you get to be stuck somewhere else for an undetermined amount of time :(
On the plus side, you’ll be home and have things you can actually do to pass the time!
